You too could own a bike identical to Rick Olson's FX600 championship-winning Yamaha YZF-R6.

The factory Yamaha Racing Team has announced that it is selling race-specification Superstock 600 and FX600 race bikes direct to the public.

Buy a bike the same as the ones that Rick Olson and Kevin Curtain rode to 1-2 in the Formula Xtreme FX600 Championship for $23,500, while an ASBK Superstock 600-spec model is $500 less expensive.

This includes the cost of a new unit, all the labour charges associated with preparing it to full race spec and also includes all the road going parts so you can return the unit to standard if required.

Customers will need to advise their riding details and weight etc and YRT will set the suspension of the bike up according to their initial needs.

The price includes a brand new YZF-R6 with the following race parts fitted: braided steel front brake line set, fairing set with screen, YRT replica paint/graphics, GYTR slip-on muffler, GYTR air filter, end case protector set, suspension mods, crash knob set, an optimum range of 520 sprockets front and rear, DID 520 racing chain, rear stand lugs, chain guard, lap timer, Dunlop control tyre set, tyre warmer set,
synthetic engine oil, radiator guard, front stand, rear stand, steering damper kit and a Power Commander (only for FX600 spec).

Plus all assembly labour costs are covered including drilling and lock wiring of items required by FX and ASBK rules.

Each bike will be run on YRT’s dyno and an individual dyno sheet will be supplied. For FX600 the Power Commander will be mapped during the dyno runs.

All that’s required is a $5000 deposit and YRT do the rest. The finished race bike will be available to collect from YRT workshop in Brisbane, QLD, in around six to eight weeks from placement of deposit.

A production model YZF-R6 retails for $16,299.
