Cougar Bourbon Honda Thor Racing’s Dan Reardon is looking to use a hometown advantage tonight when the 2010 Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, reaches its final round in Brisbane.

Reardon, who hails from Logan Village, said he is looking forward to riding out in front of a home crowd at Brisbane’s QSAC Stadium tonight.

“The boost that being in front of a home crowd can deliver is beneficial in any sport, and I’m really hoping to use it to my advantage tomorrow night,” said Reardon.

“I’ve had a few potential good results go begging and been caught out in some of the format changes so I really want to step up and make an impression in the last round.

“If Queensland’s weather is anything to go by then we’re in for a another wet and muddy race. Starts will be key, the last thing you need is to be bogged back in the pack where visibility is tough.”

A run of bad luck and niggling injuries has so far hampered the multiple Australian champion’s quest for success in the Open class this season.

Tonight will also mark Reardon’s final appearance as a factory Honda rider, poised to switch to JDR Motorex KTM for the 2011 season.

Teammate and fellow Queenslander Todd Waters has been ruled out of the Super X finale by doctors following a serious concussion which saw him knocked out cold for nearly three minutes at last weekend’s Parramatta event.
