Team Honda Racing’s Jamie Stauffer stormed to his second QBE Australian Superbike Championship Superpole in a row at Queensland Raceway this morning with a 1:09.112.

Stauffer’s lap was just short of Shawn Giles’ qualifying record of 1:08.647, good enough to edge out 2009 champion Josh Waters’ (Team Suzuki) 1:09.259.

Rounding out the front row will be Stauffer’s teammate Wayne Maxwell thanks to his 1:09.638 and Brisbane’s Ben Attard (i-Style The Natural Aprilia Racing) with a 1:09.874.

Team Suzuki’s Troy Herfoss posted a 1:09.898 for fifth, edging out series leader Glenn Allerton (Procon Maxima Racing BMW), Robert Bugden (Team Mack Trucks Suzuki) and Craig Coxhell (Demolition Plus GAS Honda Racing).

Earlier this morning it was Maxwell who bounced back from a frustrating Friday to clinch provisional pole, climbing six positions up the leaderboard with a 1:09.325 – a full 1.428 second improvement over yesterday.

Race one of the superbikes is scheduled to take place at 1:05pm this afternoon.
