Maxwell and Stauffer confirm Suzuka 8 Hours bid on SPEED

Team Honda Racing teammates have confirmed their intentions to race Suzuka 8 Hours.

Wayne Maxwell and Jamie Stauffer want a return to Suzuka in 2012.

Team Honda Racing teammates Wayne Maxwell and Jamie Stauffer have confirmed their intentions to race the 2012 Suzuka 8 Hours round of World Endurance this July.

The iconic Japanese race will take place on 29 July, and the Honda duo want to compete as teammates for the second year in succession.

“It definitely looks like we’ll be going back,” Maxwell told Jessica Yates on Speed News Australia last night. “Jamie and I feel like we’ve got unfinished business there.”

Stauffer reflected Maxwell’s comments, determined to make it back if he is able to.

“We’re definitely keen to go back,” Stauffer said. “My wife is due to have our third baby on the 28th so it’s cutting it fine. We have unfinished business after we broke down at seven hours and 10 minutes.”

Maxwell and Stauffer were forced out of the race during the 2011 event.

Team Suzuki’s Australian Superbike series leader Josh Waters has already confirmed his intentions to compete for Yoshimura Suzuki after claiming second one year ago.
