Rain has forced an early end to Australian Superbike Championship testing that was scheduled to take place at Queensland Raceway this week, 26-27 June.

Unrelenting rain in the Ipswich region yesterday delayed testing, before further bad weather today forced the early conclusion of the test.

Team Suzuki riders Josh Waters, Ben Attard and Brodie Waters were on hand for the test, as was Team Volvo Group Suzuki’s Robbie Budgen.

Fresh from victory in the recent fifth round of the ASBK title chase, Team Honda Racing was also on hand with Jamie Stauffer, Wayne Maxwell and Josh Hook.

Queensland-based Cube Racing Suzuki privateer Ben Henry was also on hand, as was current Prostock championship leader Chas Hern.

Riders completed few laps on Tuesday morning before, and then the Honda trio completed minimal testing in wet conditions. Today’s test was a complete wash.

Teams will now travel back down to their respective Victorian bases, with further local testing anticipated ahead of the Phillip Island’s penultimate round on 17-19 August.

Josh Waters, Maxwell and Stauffer are also scheduled to head to Japan for initial Suzuka 8 Hours testing that will take place next week.
