Monza Imports has this week officially launched Bell Helmets in Australia, with CycleOnline.com.au attending the Sydney launch in Parramatta last night, 31 October.

Following an 18-year absense from Australia, the iconic US brand will be distributed by Melbourne-based distributor Monza Imports, including both dirt and street ranges.

American guests Chris Sackett and Matt Schumann attended the launch direct from Bell Helmets in California, the brand welcomed by Monza Imports managing director John Chiodo.

“Bell is a truly iconic brand through both its storied history in power sports and the incredible quality and design innovations it consistently brings to the industry,” said Chiodo “We are thrilled to be given this significant opportunity to leverage such an influential power sports brand.”

According to Chiodo, pricing has been key in Monza Imports’ sales strategy during 2012 and that trend will continue with the Bell range.

“I would say that Monza Imports has been the first and most aggressive company to compete with online pricing and we have found that it’s working well, to get people back in the shops,” he explained. “That will be the same with Bell, we have worked hard to achieve that.

“Some models may be $20 dearer here, something like that, but not worth people importing the helmets. It will be very close to the US price, if not the same to make it an easy choice for customers.”
