Mitchell Carr will race World Supersport next season with the Australian-owned Aark Racing team.

New Australian Supersport Champion Mitchell Carr will step up to World Supersport full time in 2013 with his current Aark Racing team aboard a Triumph 675R.

The Aark Racing team had a stellar 2012 season, winning the Australian Supersport Championship, with team owner Andy Offer now setting his sights on the world championships with Carr at the helm.

“It has always been a goal of mine to own and manage a team on the world scene,” Offer said. “With the team’s achievements in 2012 at the Australian level, I believe it is time to take what we have learned to the next level.

“As many of the Australian riders venturing overseas this year will be riding for European teams, our team is a bit unique in that we will be a fully owned and managed Australian team. I believe this will lift the profile of motorcycle racing in Australia.”

After winning his first Australian Supersport title, Carr is looking ahead and believes that the team has the package to be extremely competitive.

The team has been developing a World Supersport Triumph 675R this current season, with the results exceeding the team’s expectations. The bike has adapted to the Pirelli Tyres and Motec electronics with ease.

Aark Racing’s bikes contesting the World Supersport Championship will showcase race prepared engines and K-Tech suspension both developed using Australian expertise in Australia.

“The team has prepared a great bike throughout the 2012 season, testing has been very positive and the bike is coming ahead in leaps and bounds,” Carr said.

“After winning the Australian Supersport Championship title this season, I am so grateful for Aark Racing to give me this great opportunity to contest the World Supersport Championship.”

The team expects that they will once again be able to represent loyal sponsors with pride and anticipate a great year for new sponsors and any potential sponsors coming on board.
