Pirelli Tyres now available to order for 2013 ASBK championship

Link International releases further details on Pirelli's return to Australian Superbikes.

Dual ASBK champion Glenn Allerton will compete on Pirelli with Hepburn Motorsports BMW.

Link International, as exclusive importer for Pirelli Motorcycle Tyres in Australia, has announced further details for competitors in the Australian Superbike Championship who chose to race on Pirelli tyres in season 2013.

All Pirelli Race tyres can now be ordered using the Pirelli ASBK Tyre Order Form relative to their class of competition and available to download at www.linkint.com.au.

Riders will need to enter the round as per usual by completing the normal ASBK entry form, then download the Pirelli ASBK Tyre Order Form and place their tyre order separately with Link International.

Tyres will then be available for pick up at the track prior to the commencement of practice for the event. The ASBK tyre service will also be available at the track for free tyre fitting.

Once tyres have been ordered, riders will then qualify for the Pirelli Privateer Program, which includes reimbursement of entry fees for Superbike, Pro Stock and Supersport 600 class. All Pirelli tyre orders close 14 days prior to the event, so it is important that riders place tyre orders as soon as possible after completing their ASBK entry.

Superbike Class:
New Pirelli Diablo Superbike Tyres to make domestic championship world debut at ASBK 2013.

Tyres can now be ordered for this class using the ‘Superbike Tyres Order Form’ for pick up at the track prior to the commencement of practice at Phillip Island. Special ASBK tyre pricing of $499 per set, with ASBK round entry fee of $480 reimbursed by Pirelli to riders at time of tyre purchase (minimum purchase three fronts and four rears per round). Maximum tyre purchases also apply per round as initial stocks are limited.

In 2013, the ASBK will be the first domestic championship in the world to use the new for 2013 generation of Diablo Superbike SC0, SC1 and SC2 slicks in 120/70R-17 and 200/60R-17 sizes. These are a new design, with new compounds and construction developed in the World Superbike Championship, which is also now competing on 17-inch Diablo Superbike Tyres for 2013. Pirelli will partner with Hepburn Motorsports BMW in the Superbike class in 2013, with Racers Edge Performance and Cube Racing recently also choosing race with Pirelli tyres for the 2013 ASBK season.

With a the minimum tyre purchase of three fronts and four rears per round, plus the entry fee rebate, that equates to racers saving around $895 per round on what they would normally pay, which over the season is some serious savings. Competitors enter round by round, so state level racers who want to do the local ASBK round only can also benefit from this program when stepping up to national racing.

Prostock Class:
Tyres can now be ordered for the Prostock class using the ‘Pro Stock Tyres Order Form’, for pick up at the track prior to the commencement of practice at Phillip Island. Special ASBK tyre pricing of $499 per set, with ASBK round entry fee of $375 reimbursed by Pirelli to riders at time of tyre purchase (minimum purchase three fronts and four rears per round). Maximum tyre purchases also apply per round as initial stocks are limited.

Supersport 600 Class:
Tyres can now be ordered for this class using the ‘Supersport 600 Tyres Order Form’ for pick up at the track prior to the commencement of practice at Phillip Island. Special ASBK tyre pricing of $479 per set, with ASBK round entry fee of $400 reimbursed by Pirelli to riders at time of tyre purchase (minimum purchase three sets per round). Maximum tyre purchases also apply per round as initial stocks are limited. A free set of Pirelli tyres will also be awarded to the highest placed Pirelli Privateer at each ASBK Supersport round.

As with the Superbike class, competitors enter round by round so state level racers who want to do the local ASBK Supersport 600 round only can also benefit from this program when stepping up to national racing. Interest has been high for Pirelli Privateer riders in this class, and we look forward to assisting many riders to get the best from their machines and tyres, with technical support available at the track to Supersport 600 riders who choose Pirelli.

250 Production Class:
Tyres can now be ordered for this class using the ‘250 Production Tyres Order Form’ for pick up at the track prior to the commencement of practice at Phillip Island. Special ASBK tyre pricing of $299 per set, plus a total of $5000 in Link Dollars available in season 2013 as contingency to competitors in this class throughout the year (minimum purchase one set per round). Maximum tyre purchase quantities also apply per round.

Superlites:
Tyres for the Superlites class can be ordered using the ‘Superlites Tyres Order Form’ Minimum purchase of two sets per round to qualify for Pirelli contingency.

Pirelli released their new Diablo Superbike slicks in small sizes to suit 125 and Moto3 bikes in 2012 with great success, and these will be made available to Superlites riders at $349 per set. A free set of Pirelli race tyres will also be awarded the highest placed Pirelli Privateer at each ASBK Superlites round.

The Pirelli ASBK Privateer Program will be exclusive to the ASBK series in 2013. This new ASBK program is designed to complement Pirelli’s ongoing successful involvement in many state based series around Australia, and give riders a chance to step up to national competition throughout the year with this exciting ASBK package.
