Following a stellar 2012 season, the Racers Edge Performance Suzuki Team has begun preparations for the 2013 season, which gets underway alongside the first round of the World Superbike at Phillip Island over the weekend of 22–24 February.

Last year saw Racers Edge Suzuki expand to two riders, take its first ever Australian Superbike victory and also run in the cut-throat Superstock 600 and Supersport class developing a young up and coming rider.

2013 is again looking like a busy year with the team confirmed to be using Phil Tainton prepared Suzuki’s in the Superbike and new Supersport classes as well as taking on the honour of being a key Pirelli-supported team.

The team will have the full support and assistance of not only Phil Tainton Racing but also Link International and Pirelli Tyres as they embark on the new era of tyre competition in the ASBK.

Beau Beaton will again pilot the potent Racers Edge Performance GSX-R1000 Superbike, while young gun Mitch Levy is back for another season on the GSX-R600 after a steep learning curve last year.

“I am really excited by the challenge we are facing this year in developing the bike to run on Pirelli’s world class tyres,” said team manager team manager Greg Maher. “The other thing that I am really happy about is that Beau Beaton will again pilot the Superbike, Beau loves the bike and is confident he can improve on his efforts from last year which were impressive to say the least.

“The opportunity to help young Mitch Levy take that next step in his career is also exciting as he steps up the new Supersport class full time.

“The continuity of having both riders back for 2013 means we can hit the ground running with only limited testing opportunity. We have the World SBK round to get Beau up to speed before the first Superbike point-scoring round in Tasmania with the V8 Supercars.

“Also, as always I need to acknowledge the continued support from our longtime sponsors, who we have a great relationship with, along with the increased involvement of Link International and our new sponsor, Quick Lap Performance.”

The Racers Edge Performance Suzuki Team would like to thank its long time sponsors, Suzuki, Vern Graham Suzuki, Phil Tainton Racing, Link International, Motul, RK Chains, Performance Friction Brakes and Quick Lap Performance.
