Hiroshi Aoyama has been injured training during the MotoGP pre-season.

Avintia Blusens’ new addition Hiroshi Aoyama has fractured his left wrist in a motocross accident whilst training near Barcelona in Spain, yet will be fit to attend the upcoming test in Sepang.

The accident occurred last Friday on a track near Barcelona, where the rider usually resides.

Following a consultation with Dr Xavier Mir at the USP Dexeus University Institute of Barcelona on Monday, where he underwent numerous tests.

It was confirmed that he suffered a small fracture in his left wrist that will require a full week’s worth of full rest to heal.

Despite the setback, Aoyama will be able to attend the first official MotoGP test of 2013 to be held at the Sepang International Circuit from the 5-7 February.
