Pirelli has announced an additional front and rear tyre option for Phillip Island in the Superbike and Prostock classes of the Australian Superbike Championship.

Following the latest testing of the resurfaced Phillip Island circuit by Pirelli technicians, Link International has provided an updated list of homologated slick tyres for round one of the ASBK series at Phillip Island on 22-24 February.

This new list sees the substitution of one new front and also one new rear solution for the Phillip Island circuit in the Pirelli range, following recent testing on the resurfaced track.

Front Tyres:
New Diablo Superbike Front 120/70R17 NHS TL SCX R0753 (Phillip Island only)
61-233-30 Diablo Superbike Front 120/70R17 NHS TL SC2

Rear Tyres:

All competitors who have pre-purchased Pirelli race tyres for round one of ASBK in Superbike and Prostock tyres, will be contacted by Link International prior to racing in regards to these new options.

These two new options have been homologated with Motorcycling Australia, for the Philip Island round of ASBK only.

For all other classes, Pirelli homologation remains unchanged.

Link would like to also use this opportunity to remind competitors that all Pirelli tyres for competition in the ASBK round one at Phillip Island must be ordered from Link International no later than 8 February to ensure supply at the race track for this event.

Tyres must be ordered through Link to qualify for entry fee re-imbursement in Superbike, Prostock and Supersport 600, and also to qualify for Pirelli contingency in all classes.

Riders will need to enter the round as per usual by completing the normal ASBK entry form, then download the Pirelli ASBK Tyre Order Form and place their tyre order separately with Link International.

Tyre orders can be faxed to 07-33825050 or emailed to [email protected].

The Pirelli tyre order cut off for Round 1 at Phillip Island is Friday, February 8, 2013
