Monster Energy Yamaha Austria Racing Team has confirmed that Australian Josh Waters and Broc Parkes will compete in the World Endurance Championship for 2013.

Alongside his British Superbike assault with Milwaukee Yamaha, Waters will ride for YART in selected WEC rounds, including the Suzuka 8 Hours in which he starred at last year.

“It’s great for me to be given the opportunity to join up with the Monster Energy Yamaha YART team during this year,” Waters said. “I know the bike and my teammates are very quick, so I hope we can get a very strong result.

“I have raced at the Suzuka event before and it really is a great experience, so I’m very excited to be racing there again!”

Waters has competed twice previously at the Eight Hour event, scoring an impressive second place in 2011 alongside Yukio Kagayama and Nobuatsu Aoki. Waters and Parkes will be joined by Katsuyuki Nakasuga in 2013 at Suzuka.

Parkes was recently confirmed for Yamaha Racing with Yamalube to ride in the Australian FX-Superbike Championship, taking on the WEC role in addition for this year.
