Australian teammates Broc Parkes and Josh Waters this week debuted in Endurance World Championship aboard the Yamaha Austria Racing Team YZF-R1 at Magny-Cours in France.

Wet weather greeted the former dirt trackers at the venue that will host round one of the EWC series on 20-21 April, before day two was cancelled due to snow at the circuit.

“It’s been really, really cold and difficult to do a lot of laps,” Parkes added. “It felt really good though, got some seat time and the team has been really good to work with.”

The test marked Waters’ official debut aboard a Yamaha, the current ASBK champion so far enjoying the opportunity despite the weather.

“The weather was terrible, freezing cold – a bit different to home!” Waters said.

“I got on good with the team, it was my first go on the R1 and all was good, so hopefully we can keep this rolling into round one and we will be all good.”

Waters and Parkes will be joined on the EWC grid by Cudlin brothers, Damian and Alex, at select rounds during the 2013 season.
