Bryan Staring is confident of another strong showing after a three-day test at Jerez prior to the season start.

Bryan Staring will head to the opening race of the European MotoGP spurred on by the confidence of a trouble-free finish at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Round three of the world championship will be held at the Jerez circuit, a testing hotbed for teams, and a circuit that places less emphasis on top speed and more on precise handling.

A 20th place finish aboard the GO&FUN Gresini Honda CRT mount has the Australian rider in a positive mindset as he prepares for just his third race in the premier category.

“I was happy to complete full race distance in MotoGP for the first time at Austin because I was able to learn a lot,” said Staring. “It means we go to Jerez on the back of a positive experience and we know we have the opportunity to take another big step forward in terms of my adaptation to this class.

“Every time I go out on the bike I get a better feeling for the bike and the main thing right now is to complete laps and follow the instructions of the team.”

While he took part in the intensive pre-season testing at Jerez, this weekend will mark Staring’s first races at the Spanish circuit.

“Jerez is an incredible circuit and this is my first chance to race in front of the amazing crowds that MotoGP attracts in Europe,” he added. “I am feeling confident and can’t wait to get out on track.”
