Caretta Technology FTR frontrunner Jack Miller is moving on from the crash that saw him fall foul of a potential top-four finish in the Moto3 class at Jerez.

The Australian was leading an eight-rider battle pack in pursuit of the leaders when Portugese rider Miguel Oliveira ran him wide and then crashed, sending both bikes into the turn one gravel trap.

Oliveira re-mounted and continued on for a mid-pack finish, while Miller scored a disappointing DNF.

It was the only blemish on an overwhelmingly positive weekend for the Townsville-raised rider who is going from strength to strength in the class.

“We were in a good group at that time and fighting for fourth,” explained Miller. “The bike was working well and everything was going fine.

“Everything sort of came together for us, but the crash, well this can happen, this is racing, there is not much we can change about it.”

Despite the non-finish, Miller was pleased with the performance of the FTR machine and felt it would continue to be strong in coming rounds.

“We’re looking forward now to Le Mans where we hope to pick up where we left off,” he said. “The FTR is working so well, and is quite good in the high speed corners, which means we can catch most riders.

“The team is doing such a great job, they’re putting together the bike the way we need it and it’s just all working well.”

He heads to Le Mans next week still holding down 10th place on the Moto3 standings.
