Motorcycling Australia has announced an internal staffing restructure.

Motorcycling Australia has confirmed an internal restructure of its staff on a bid to “promote greater collaboration and communication both internally and externally”.

Two new positions have been created at MA – development and rule coordinator, as well as sport and event coordinator. The positions have been taken up by existing employees, Bron Sorensen and Matt Kearsley respectively.

With the former operations manager role no longer part of the structure, there is now a development and communications department reporting to Sorensen, and an events department reporting Kearsley.

Sorensen will be handling the Manual of Motorcycle Sport and administering and coordinating the Road Race and Junior Commissions, while Kearsley will be taking care of events and Australian championships, along with the Enduro and Motocross Commissions.

As part of the changes, new processes are being put in place including a rule interpretation process whereby all rule interpretation requests and general rule enquiries should be directed to Bron.

MA’s CEO David White said that with the changes that have been made to the staff structure, the organisation is set to embark on an exciting period.

“These changes are a vital step for us to continue to improve and develop as the governing body of Motorcycle Sport in Australia,” White said.

“These changes are in line with the positive direction that the organisation is heading in, and we look forward to some exciting times ahead.”

While MA welcomes the restructure, it also farewells Barry French as MA’s previous operations manager.
