QBE Australian Superbike Championship leader Glenn Allerton sits on provisional pole position following this morning’s lone regular qualifying session at Queensland Raceway.

The Next Gen Motorsports BMW rider slotted his HP4 onto the top spot with a 1m08.689 inside just four laps during the session to head rookie Josh Hook (Team Honda Racing), whose 1m09.201 late in the session placed him in a surprise second.

Team Suzuki duo Robbie Budgen (1m09.315) and Wayne Maxwell (1m09.360) rounded out the provisional front row, while Hook’s injured teammate Jamie Stauffer (1m09.720) completed the top five.

The all-important Superbike Superpole session will be on track at 3:25pm.

The Supersport Superpole session will also be introduced with the fresh format this weekend, featuring the top 13 riders from this morning’s regular qualifying session.

That session was topped by Michael Blair (Blairbuild/YRD/JoeGroot Civil/Finson Yamaha) with a 1m12.572, over half a second ahead of Luke Burgess (Mackay Kawasaki/Kawasaki Australia/Tomsey Racing/KMF) at 1m13.091.

The provisional front row featured Ryan Taylor (Pirelli/Motul/SW Racing/YRD Yamaha, 1m13.155) and Aiden Wagner (YRD/XXX Rated Suspension/Wagner Soil Testing Yamaha, 1m13.373).

Supersport Superpole is scheduled to take place this morning at 11:40am.
