Team Honda Racing Superbike stars Jamie Stauffer and Josh Hook will team up to take on the legendary Suzuka 8 Hour on 28 July, 2013.

The duo will pilot the Dream RT Sakurai Honda mount in one of the FIM World Endurance Championship’s toughest and most demanding showdowns.

A two-time Australian Superbike Champion and seasoned international racer, Stauffer is no stranger to the challenge of Suzuka, finishing in a commendable sixth last year after factoring within the top four for much of the event.

“I’m looking forward to the race, it will be good to get over there and to show Josh what it’s all about, it’s a really special race,” said Stauffer.

“I have some work to do to get my injuries in order before testing starts but I’m hoping for some good news and looking forward to the race.”

Hook, meanwhile, approaches the race as a rookie and knows he will face a steep learning curve.

He has acquitted himself well in his introduction to the 1000cc Honda Fireblade in Australia and is hoping to find his feet in pre-event testing.

“I really have no idea what to expect, it is such a big event and the race goes for such a long time that anything can happen!” said Hook.

“Testing will give us a good idea of where the bike is at and what kind of endurance is needed. I can’t wait to get over there, it’s going to be an awesome experience.”

Stauffer and Hook join a growing list of Aussies on the grid, joining the likes of Josh Waters, Broc Parkes and Levi Day.
