Jason O’Halloran remains focused on his goal of Supersport success despite the setbacks he has faced to date.

Jason O’Halloran is determined to move beyond the setbacks experienced at Snetterton and feels he has plenty left to give in the fight for the British Supersport Championship crown.

The Australian rider has been hamstrung by an incredible run of bad luck to start the season, and had hoped to come out of round five with two consistent race finishes.

O’Halloran battled in his rightful place at the front of the field in the Supersport sprint race, coming away with a deserved fifth place finish and a solid haul of points.

He led the feature race from the start but bad luck struck again. This time, the belly pan of his Samsung Honda was ripped from its place on just the third lap, with the only option remaining to retire.

O’Halloran was determined to focus on the positives from the meeting which saw him make blistering starts and match the pace of the class leaders.

“There are some positives to take from this weekend; we had two front row starts and I moved forward with how I want the bike to feel, which gave me a better feeling on the opening lap,” he said.

“I had a good battle in race one and I was in a comfortable second place when I had to stop so I did about all I could do, which was obviously disappointing.”

The title fight resumes at Brands Hatch in just under a fortnight, a track O’Halloran knows well.

He is hopeful of overcoming a bad run of luck and showing his true podium potential at round six.

“We now just have to think ‘roll on Brands Hatch’ and I’ll be there giving it 100 percent again,” added the Australian rider. “This year won’t beat me as I’m stubborn and we will get there in the end.”

O’Halloran sits a competitive eighth on the overall standings despite having only finished six of the 10 races contested to date.
