Pirelli is gearing up for the long-awaited return of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) to Sydney Motorsport Park, formerly Eastern Creek, with tyre orders and associated rebates for all classes now available.
The 1-4 August event is shaping up as a successful one for the the Pirelli Moto division if the recent form at Queensland Raceway is anything to go by.
“The Queensland round of the ASBK was an extremely successful round again for Pirelli competitors,” explained Don Nicholas, national manager of Pirelli Moto at Link International.
“A new lap record in the Superbike class, first in Superpole and a race win to Glenn Allerton and the Next Gen BMW using standard Diablo Superbike SC1 front and SC0 rear was very pleasing to see, in what was our first race weekend back at Queensland Raceway at national level for several years.”
The ASBK is the first domestic championship in the world to use the new 2013 Diablo Superbike SC0, SC1, and SC2 slicks in 120/70R-17 and 200-60R-17 sizes, which are developed at the front-line World Superbike Championship level.
Pirelli handles orders on a round-by-round basis, so the savings and entry fee rebates are available to riders who run a full season or choose to enter individual events.
The Queensland Raceway event also marked the debut of Pirelli’s new Diablo Supercorsa SC featuring a new tread pattern, improved carcass materials and revised tyre dimension combined with the World Supersport-developed SC0, SC1 and SC2 compounds.
“Debuting our new Diablo Supercorsa SC DOT tyres in the Supersport 600 class at QR with two race wins also shows the pace and increased product development at World Superpsport level can also be experienced by Aussie racers who choose Pirelli in this class,” added Nicholas.
“Just as important to Pirelli, we were pleased to see many personal best lap times and many smiling faces for Pirelli privateer riders at QR across all classes, and look forward to the upcoming round at Sydney Motorsport Park.”
