Motorcycling Australia (MA) will produce the annual Manual of Motorcycle Sport (MoMS) in digital format only from 2014.

The industry reference title will be available online in January, hosted on a separate website with responsive properties specific for device use. A mobile app will also be developed.

The move will have both cost and environmental benefits, saving MA from printing and posting the 30,000 print versions it has provided each year.

“Digitalising the Manual of Motorcycle Sport is in direct response to this [consumer shift]. It means users will be able to access the manual anywhere, anytime,” said MA chief executive David White.

“The evolution of the Manual of Motorcycle Sport means it is more cost effective to produce and will allow us to focus much needed funding elsewhere.

“It will also be better for the environment by eliminating the need to produce 30,000 paper versions each year.”

The format will remain the same but the MoMS digital presence will allow it to be updated remotely with rule and legislation changes which are issued regularly throughout the course of a year.
