Aussie talent Jack Miller is hopeful of lining up as a starter at this weekend’s Brno Grand Prix just days after surgery to repair his freshly-fractured collarbone.

Miller sustained the break when he was flicked off his Caretta Technology FTR Honda in Sunday’s Moto3 race at Indianapolis.

He left the United States immediately to have the injury attended to, and hopes to receive clearance from paddock medical personnel to race in the Czech Republic.

ā€œIā€™m so disappointed with what happened at Indy,” said Miller. “I flew straight to England and went straight to hospital for surgery.

“Luckily the plate already in my collarbone was not damaged. The plan is to be back for Brno, and keep on pushing as best possible.”

If he does receive a positive assessment, the assignment of competing at the Brno circuit will still be tough. The 5.403 kilometre, 14-corner layout features constant changes in elevation and fast, sweeping corners, exerting considerable forces upon a rider at speed.

Prior to his Indy crash, Miller had recorded four consecutive top-10 finishes in the category, and is still the class-leading Honda rider despite the non-points finish.
