Australia’s lone MotoGP World Championship regular Bryan Staring is looking to take advantage of track knowledge when the series resumes this weekend at Brno in the Czech Republic.

Staring won the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup race at Brno last season, and his his maiden MotoGP campaign with Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini, the Western Australian is eager to put disappointments from Indianapolis behind him.

“Unfortunately at Indianapolis all the positive things we did in practice came to nothing in the race,” Staring said. “I didn’t have the same confidence with the bike and it was disappointing.

“Now we go to Brno, finally a circuit that I already know, and we have an opportunity to put that disappointment behind us.

“I like the circuit at Brno so hopefully that means we can get started on the bike set-up from the first session.”

Last weekend at Indianapolis in the US saw Staring race to 19th position after qualifying 20th aboard the Honda-powered FTR.

Staring currently sits 24th in the world championship standings, picking up 14th position at Catalunya in Spain earlier this season.
