As was the case a month ago, poor weather conditions at Motegi have made for a complicated beginning to Casey Stoner’s latest test with HRC.

The former world champion will attempt to complete the program, which this time is expected to including running on the Honda Production Racer for 2014, on Thursday.

Stoner is back at Motegi for a second test of 2013. Although the weather has not been on his side so far, conditions are inspected to improve on Thursday.

A month ago, he had focused solely on the development of the RC213V currently raced by Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez, although this week’s schedule (halved because of the rain) also features the Production Racer.

“We are incredibly pleased to have such a rapid test rider,” Honda’s Livio Suppo tells motogp.com. “This has proven to be a perfect situation for us.

“Since Casey retired from racing, he has missed riding the bike, so to have a rider of this calibre involved in the development of our machine is like a dream for us.”

Since his retirement from MotoGP, in which he claimed the world titles of 2007 (Ducati Team) and 2011 (Repsol Honda), Stoner has turned his attention to Australian series V8 Supercars.
