2012 Australian Supersport Champion Mitchell Carr has announced he has parted ways with the AARK Racing outfit prior to the completion of his maiden World Supersport Championship campaign.

The only Triumph rider entered in the category, Carr opened his season strongly on home soil at Phillip Island, taking 16th place and narrowly missing a points finish.

That would be his best result over the next eight rounds, with the team making a late switch to a Honda for Silverstone and the Nurburgring events with limited forward progress.

A brief statement issued by Carr via his own social media channels indicates “financial circumstances” as the reason for cessation of the long-standing relationship.

“I would like to thank Andy and Anthea Offer from the AARK racing Team for the amazing opportunity to be competing in the extremely tough World Supersport Championship,” said Carr.

“I commend Andy Offer for his efforts to bring an Australian team to the World Championship level.”

Carr will assess options to finish the 2013 championship and is also looking to firm up his future for 2014.
