A rollercoaster 24 hours has continued for Aussie talent Josh Waters, with BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent naming him in its four-rider lineup for this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Waters was left without a ride after being dismissed by British Superbike outfit Milwaukee Yamaha as part of what has been a controversial shakeup to the teams taking part in the championship’s Title Fighters showdown. Read more on that story here.

Originally slated to compete in Assen, Waters’ services have quickly been secured by the front-running team which claimed a podium finish at the recent 8 Hours of Oschersleben.

He contested the first three events of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) with Monster Energy Yamaha Austria who subsequently filled his spot due to his then-BSB duties.

The announcement was revealed by the team via its twitter account, @TeamTheventEWC. “BMW Motorrad France rider line up for 2013 #24hmoto at Le Mans will be: Sébastien Gimbert, Sylvain Barrier, Josh Waters and Jake Zemke.”

Fellow Aussie Damian Cudlin has competed with the team in past WEC events but will be competing at the penultimate round of the German IDM Superbike Championship at Hockenheim this weekend, rendering him unavailable.
