The 2014 MotoGP World Championship calendar has been released revealing a listing of events and dates in a similar structure to 2013.

The primary difference is the increase from 18 to 19 grands prix, taking into account the addition of Termas de Rio Honda (Argentina) and the new Brazilian circuit. Laguna Seca is the only casualty after it was deemed a third GP in the United States was proving largely unprofitable.

Of note is the decision to schedule six grands prix within the space of seven weekends from the Misano event (round 13, 14 September) through to Phillip Island (round 18, 26 October).

The season once again opens under lights in Qatar at the Losail International Circuit, though the date has been moved forward a fortnight to 23 March.

The new Argentinian event will take place on 27 April, with Brasil’s event, still subject to final FIM homologation, slated for 28 September.

The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix will be held on the weekend of 26 October, a week later than this year, and the season will wrap up at its traditional venue in Valencia on 9 November.
