Sydney Motorsport Park will host a thrilling finale to the closely-contested Australian FX-Superbike Championship battle this weekend, with four riders in the mix to take the title.

After a solid outing at Queensland Raceway it is Yamaha’s international star Broc Parkes who leads the way. Parkes had both pace and consistency in Ipswich, and was able to move clear of previous points leader and defending champion Kevin Curtain, who lost his advantage due to a crash.

The third factory Yamaha of Rick Olson is also right in the running. Just 34 points adrift, Olson remains a strong title chance if either of the frontrunners are to falter.

Newly-crowned Australian Prostock Champion Matt Walters is just three points off Olson – 58 points away from the overall lead – and has form on his side as he heads back to the site of his round one win.

With six races to contest and 150 points on offer, the hunt for the FX-SBK spoils should remain open well into the closing stages of the weekend.

Formula Oz, FX-600, Pro Twins and Ultra Lites fill the bill for what is shaping up as another action-packed weekend.
