Samsung Honda’s Jason O’Halloran was robbed of two potential victories at Silverstone’s penultimate round of the British Supersport Championship over the weekend.

O’Halloran claimed his first career BSB Supersport pole position on Saturday, but crashed out of contention during Saturday’s Sprint race.

Sunday saw O’Halloran again in contention for a debut victory, however an incident on the penultimate lap with Alastair Seeley saw him suffer his second major crash of the weekend.

“The weekend was good for me apart from the races!” O’Halloran said. “We topped three of the four sessions and were second fastest in the other so we showed that we had the pace.

“We showed the same in the races, but in both of them I got taken down whilst battling for the lead, which is obviously disappointing but now we just have to look to Brands Hatch.”

Team manager Havier Beltran was disappointed with the end result, but was satisfied with the promising form shown by O’Halloran at Silverstone.

“In the Supersport class, it was a really disappointing weekend for Jason and today’s no-score was no fault of his own,” Beltran commented.

“It was an unfortunate outcome after he had worked so hard but we will regroup and come back ready for the two final races of the season at Brands Hatch.”

O’Halloran sits sixth in the championship with one round remaining at Brands Hatch on 18-20 October.
