British Superbikes will again span over 12 rounds in 2014.

The 2014 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship calendar has been announced by series promoter MSVR following approval by the series governing body, the MCRCB.

The 2014 calendar will again comprise of 12 events across eight UK circuits, as well as a round in continental Europe at Assen. The season commences at Brands Hatch as the opening round returns to its traditional Easter weekend date before heading to Oulton Park on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

The Snetterton 300 round will take place in June before the annual Scottish round of the championship at Knockhill, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2014, before returning to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in July for the summer round.

Thruxton kicks off the first of the August events before the second visit to Oulton Park and the August Bank Holiday ‘Party in the Park’ at Cadwell Park.

Donington Park in Leicestershire will again host the crucial final round of the Main Season on 5-7 September, where the top six riders for the Showdown phase of the championship will be decided.

The Showdown will once more take place at two current MotoGP venues with the legendary Assen opening the three title-deciding rounds. The penultimate round will take place at Silverstone GP on 3-5 October and two weeks later on 17-19 October the hallowed Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit will host the triple-header season finale.
