Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Bryan Staring is determined to end a frustrating maiden MotoGP campaign with a strong result when the 2013 season concludes this weekend at Valencia, Spain.

Staring has had a lacklustre year in the premier class aboard a CBR1000RR-powered FTR in the CRT sub-category, scoring points on just one occasion at Catalunya.

With his position alongside Alvaro Bautista to be taken by Englishman Scott Redding in 2014, Valencia will mark the end of Staring’s relationship with the experienced Italian operation.

“Valencia will be an important weekend for me,” Staring said. “It is the last race of the season and I want to sign off with my best performance.

“Unfortunately the season has not met our expectations in terms of results and that is disappointing for myself and for the team.

“However, overall it has been an incredible experience for me and I would like to end it in the best possible way.”

Staring is yet to confirm his plans for next year, expected to return to the World Superbike paddock after recently attending Magny-Cours’ penultimate round of the season.
