Australian rider Nicholas Waters has finished in 10th overall in the 2013 Asia Dream Cup, which wrapped up under the lights of the Losail International Circuit over the weekend.

Representing Honda Australia, Waters showed determination and stamina throughout the season racing against riders from all over the Asia Pacific region on board Honda’s CBR250R.

“I got to ride some great tracks and on a motorcycle I’d never raced before, I’ve met some great people too,” Waters said. “All in all is has been a fantastic experience – many thanks to Honda Australia.

“I was thrown in the deep end at the start of this championship, but I got a lot of tips and advice from different people along the way. I’ve learned a lot that I can bring back to my racing in Australia.”

Held in conjunction with the 2013 PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship, the 2013 Asia Dream Cup was held at circuits all over Asia.

With all riders competing on the same specification CBR250Rs, the top eight riders of the class were given the opportunity to complete Moto3 testing.

After competing on board Honda’s CBR1000RR in the ASBK Prostock 1000 Championship in 2012, the initial transition to a CBR250R was challenging for Waters.

Throughout the season he learned how to push the CBR250R to its limits while competing against riders much smaller in size.

Showing immense improvement as the season wore on, Waters raced to the finish in every single race despite often tough conditions.
