Aussie Moto3 star Jack Miller has flown back to Australia to recuperate after undergoing surgery on his right collarbone in Barcelona.

Miller’s latest injury was sustained in a post-season testing crash at Jerez, but the tough youngster continued his testing commitments following the crash and completed another test at Almeria, despite having to ride with the collarbone fracture.

Miller has been told his collarbone requires five to six weeks of complete rest for the bone to set completely.

“This one was quite a major surgery because I pulled a lot of screws out when I crashed in Jerez,” Miller told MotoGP.com.

“I actually re-broke the collarbone. So I did the last two days testing with KTM in Almeria with a broken collarbone. Now I need to relax for five or six weeks, not doing too much.”

Miller was the top finishing Honda last season and is now considered a title contender next year after signing for Red Bull KTM for the 2014 season.

“The bike is good. It’s very fast, it handles quite well and braking stability is very good. It’s agile and it turns in very fast, so it’s a nice bike to ride,” Miller added.
