Provisional 2014 World Superbike calendar released

Australia will once again open the 2014 eni FIM Superbike World Championship.

Australia will once again open the 2014 eni FIM Superbike World Championship, the calendar released over the weekend by the FIM.

The provisional 14-round schedule still has three rounds to be confirmed subject to contracts being finalised – Sepang, Laguna Seca and Phakisa Freeway.

Round 14’s location is yet to be announced, the official calendar simply confirming it will be an ‘overseas’ round outside of Europe.

Major circuits to be dropped from the calendar for 2014 are the iconic Monza circuit in Italy, as well as England’s Silverstone venue.

Rd2 – 11-13 April – MotorLand Aragón, Spain
Rd3 – 25-27 April – Assen TT Circuit, The Netherlands
Rd4 – 9-11 May – Imola, Italy
Rd5 – 23-25 May – Donington Park, Great Britain
Rd6 – 6-8 June – Sepang, Malaysia (pending contract)
Rd7 – 20-22 June – Misano, San Marino
Rd8 – 4-6 July – Portimao, Portugal
Rd9 – 11-13 July – Laguna Seca, United States (Superbike only, pending contract)
Rd10 – 5-7 September – Jerez, Spain
Rd11 – 19-21 September – Moscow Raceway, Russia
Rd12 – 3-5 October – Magny-Cours, France
Rd13 – 17-19 October – Phakisa Freeway, South Africa (pending contract)
Rd14 – 31 October-2 November – TBC
