2014 American Superbike calendar released

The 2014 American Superbike Championship will be contested over just five events this season, AMA Pro Racing has confirmed.

The AMA Pro SuperBike, GoPro Daytona SportBike and AMA Pro SuperSport divisions will contest doubleheaders at each round in 2014, while the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series will participate in one race final per weekend.

The 73rd annual Daytona 200 will kick off the season on 13-15 March at the legendary Daytona International Speedway, before heading back to Road America in Wisconsin on the weekend of 30 May-1 June.

The series will be returning to Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama on 21-22 June, and then the penultimate round will be staged at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on 19-20 July. Concluding the season will be New Jersey Motorsports Park on the weekend of 13-14 September.

According to the AMA, a sixth event may be added to the schedule in the coming weeks. Additional details will be released upon confirmation of the event.
