Team Honda Racing will host a two-day Australian Superbike test at Phillip Island on 13-14 February, in preparation for the Phillip Island Championship opener alongside the World Superbikes next month.

Rider numbers are limited and the test will only be open to superbike and supersport competitors. Entry information can be attained by contacting Team Honda Racing principle Paul Free via email at [email protected].

“This is a great opportunity for riders to test prior to the WSBK event, being the first round of the Phillip Island Championship,” Free explained. “If we can keep numbers to a maximum of around 26 riders we will be able to have an open track situation, so riders can come and go on and off the track at will over the two days.”

Pirelli has confirmed it will have its tyre technicians on hand for the test, the brand recently named the Australian Superbike Championship control tyre for 2014 (click here for details).

Tyres for the test must be pre-purchased prior to the event by 31 January. Click here to download the tyre order form.

“We are grateful to Paul for organising this two day test at Phillip Island,” said Don Nicholas, Pirelli Moto product manager at Link International. “We see this as a fantastic opportunity for Pirelli riders to do further testing at the Phillip Island circuit.

“Our race technicians will be there to provide professional support to all riders over the two days, to ensure riders get the best out of racing on Pirelli tyres in preparation for the Australian Superbike Championship in 2014.”

The Phillip Island Championship event will take place alongside the opening round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship on 21-23 February.
