Da Costa to lead Honda's British Superbike development

Frenchman scheduled for select races during 2014 BSB season.

Triple Endurance World Champion Julien Da Costa will lead Honda Racing’s development role in the 2014 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, including a number of wildcard appearances.

The Frenchman will contest the complete Endurance World Championship for Honda alongside Freddy Foray and Sébastien Gimbert, along with select BSB outings.

“I have signed with Honda Europe to compete in the World Endurance Championship on a CBR1000RR with Freddy Foray and Sébastien Gimbert, but I will also be in a few races in British Superbike,” Da Costa said.

“The official Samsung Honda team, who were champions in 2013 with Alex Lowes, still want to come back as strong in 2015, so they asked me to participate in the development programme with test sessions and four races during the season.

“I will participate at Snetterton, Donington Park, Silverstone and the final round at Brands Hatch which should be exciting.”

After winning the championship in 2013 with Alex Lowes, Honda won’t race in the series full time this season, instead planning a development year before returning in 2015.
