International Entertainment Group (IEG) has released a modified version of the 2014 Australian Superbike Championship calendar, featuring three rounds alongside V8 Supercars.

The ASBK series will compete alongside the Perth 400 at Barbagallo Raceway, the SKYCITY Triple Crown at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway and the Coates Hire Ipswich 400 at Queensland Raceway.

Superbike and supersport classes will compete at all three two-plus-four events, according to IEG.

A standalone round at Queensland Raceway featuring all categories will open the series on 5-6 April, with remaining standalone rounds scheduled for Phillip Island and a third event at Queensland Raceway.

“The final Australian Superbike Championship differs from its original release to accommodate three V8 Supercar rounds as it plans to create the highest profiled championship in Australia since the ’90s,” a statement from IEG said.

“The championship includes three states and the territory, and aims to reach over 200,000 spectators and live TV audiences. This is one of many steps forward in the rebuilding of the profile of
Australian Superbikes.”

IEG has also organised an additional round at Broadford’s State Motorcycle Sport Complex in Victoria on 9-10 August for the Production and Superlites classes only.
