FOX SPORTS has officially confirmed all races, qualifying and practice sessions in the 2014 MotoGP World Championship will be broadcast live and in high definition on SPEED.

The pay television network has reached a sub-licence agreement with Ten ahead of the new season to simulcast all 18 premier class races, which commenced overnight at the Losail Circuit in Qatar.

As part of the agreement, FOX SPORTS will also broadcast the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championship categories live, showcasing Australian talent including Jack Miller and Arthur Sissis.

Australia’s lone MotoGP entrant this season will be experienced former World Superbike regular Broc Parkes with the Paul Bird Motorsports operation.

“Following the recent announcement of our V8 Supercars coverage which commences in 2015, this is another enormous coup for motorsport fans,” FOX SPORTS CEO Patrick Delany commented. “In 2014 there will be more coverage of MotoGP than there has ever been on Australian television on FOX SPORTS.

“MotoGP is the world’s most popular two-wheel racing championship and beginning with this weekend’s opening round in Qatar, fans will see every race from every round, including all championship races, support categories, practice, and qualifying events live with no interruptions during the action.”

The package is another major boost to FOX SPORTS, which boasts an incredible array of motor-racing coverage across a variety of disciplines and categories.

“FOX SPORTS has every motorsport fan covered,” said Delany. “The best local product in V8 Supercars from 2015 and the best from around the world now including MotoGP, NASCAR, Indycar and the Superbike World Championship, all live in high definition.”

FOX SPORTS previously broadcasted MotoGP from 1997 through 2009. The Ten Network has carried the championship since 2004 and exclusively on Australian television since 2010.

Coverage will continue on SPEED Channel 512 Saturday morning, 22 March, with MotoGP Free Practice 2 to commence the evening’s proceedings at 1:50am AEDT.

FOX SPORTS coverage of MotoGP is available in High Definition for Foxtel sports subscribers. All MotoGP coverage is also available on Foxtel Go.
