British-based Australian Jason O’Halloran has tested as Honda Racing’s official reserve rider ahead of this year’s FIM Endurance World Championship during the final pre-season test at Magny-Cours in France.

O’Halloran, who has already been confirmed to be contesting the British Superstock 1000 Championship this year for Honda, will partner French trio Julien Da Costa, Freddy Foray and Sebastien Gimbert in the revamped EWC program.

The team will ride aboard Honda’s brand new CBR1000RR SP, when the series commences with the Bol d’Or 24 Hour at Magny-Cours on 26-27 April.

With a full schedule of track time and 450 laps completed at the test, the team was able to work on fuel strategy and tyre selection, as well as finding a good set-up to suit all riders and achieving consistency in lap times.

The Magny Cours test completes an extensive pre-season program that has seen the Honda Racing team travel to Mireval, Albacete, Aragon and Cartagena as it steps up its EWC campaign in a bid to secure the 2014 title.
