Townsville’s Jack Miller’s return to the top step of the podium at Le Mans on Sunday fires a severe warning shot to his rivals that he’ll fight all the way for the 2014 Moto3 World Championship.

Miller rebounded from a frustrating result at Jerez to win his third race of the season in France, following a frantic final lap that eventually saw him cross the stripe 0.095s ahead of Honda’s Alex Rins.

“It was a great fight and that’s why I’m extremely happy,” Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Miller beamed. “The bike worked really well. I would say it was as if it was on rails, but actually it was moving about a lot.

“That was my fault as I was accelerating too early to compensate a little for the power I lacked. It was a fun race and it’s always nice when you win a fight like this, so I’m very happy.”

Miller now holds more than a full race lead in the championship standings after five rounds, 30 points ahead of Romano Fenati.
