Australian 250 Production Champion Brandon Demmery will make his Moto3 debut during the support races at the Sepang round of the Superbike World Championship in Malaysia.

Demmery, who has been campaigning a Ninja 300 in the Kawasaki Insurances Ninja 300 Cup during 2014 to date, has organised to contest the Moto3 category as WSBK makes it first appearance at Sepang.

“I really enjoy riding the Sepang track and to ride in front of such a big crowd is amazing,” Demmery said. “It sure has been busy the last couple of weeks, organising FIM licence, start permissions, insurance, flights, accommodation, etc, so I can race at this event.

“I have raced at Sepang before, and love the track layout. I have never ridden a Moto3 bike before, but I have raced a RS125 two-troke previously and hope that the skills I have developed on the four-stroke Kawasaki/Noiseguard Ninja 300 will make the transition easier.”

Demmery has been working hard to make the Malaysian excursion a reality, with his supporter-base right behind the Sepang event.

“It takes a lot of organising, and as we all know, a lot of money to do an international event,” he added. “The support I have received from my sponsors and supporters is, to be honest, very humbling. I have actually had support from guys I compete against on the 300. It proves what a close-knit bunch we racers really are.

“Messages of support and encouragment have come from the industry, fellow racers, and my competitors both in Australia and in Malaysia. I want to thank everyone for making this possible, especially my mum and dad. Their support, both financially and emotionally the last 10 years is priceless. I would not be where I am today without them.”
