Brookes turns attention back to BSB for Snetterton

Milwaukee Yamaha rider targets further race wins this weekend.

Australian ace Josh Brookes will revert his attention to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship when it resumes at Snetterton this weekend.

Brookes claimed his first win of the season last time out for the team and after recent performances on the roads at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT, Brookes is hunting a winning return to the MCE BSB championship.

“The Milwaukee Yamaha has been good at every circuit we have been to this season so I am feeling confident,” Milwaukee Yamaha’s Brookes said. “If we can continue the way we have then we should be searching for wins again this weekend.

“Some of the other teams have tested at Snetterton, but I don’t think we will be disadvantaged because we haven’t; we weren’t at Oulton Park and that was the same situation.

“I feel like I have been away from BSB for the last few weeks, but I have been riding and now I am back to thinking about what we can do this weekend. It was great to win at Oulton Park but we need to focus on the present and where we head to next.”

Brookes currently lies second in the overall standings ahead of this weekend, 30 points in arrears of multiple series champion Shane Byrne.

Countryman David Johnson will be another to turn his attention back to circuit racing this weekend, coming off a career-best showing at the TT for PR Racing Kawasaki last week.
