Anvil Hire TAG Racing Kawasaki rider Mitchell Carr will return to action this weekend at the Snetterton round of the MCE British Superbike Championship.

Carr suffered a broken hand that forced him out of the Oulton Park race weekend, but with a six-week break between rounds due to the road racing season, the 2012 Australian Supersport Champion has confirmed his comeback.

“Luckily with the approach to the TT, there was a six-week gap between the rounds, allowing me sufficient time to heal without missing any of the racing,” Carr commented. “My hand is doing really well. The displacement of the bones healed well without surgery, which is great.

“The hand specialist elected to remove the cast after three weeks in order to get the hand working a quick as possible, so it does not become too stiff. I have been completing all of my physio, and the hand is actually a lot further along then I expected.”

Carr’s lone appearance this year came at the Brands Hatch season opener, where he picked up a 20th place finish in the opening race. He crashed out of race two on debut.
