Next Gen Motorsports’ Glenn Allerton unofficially posted the fastest lap across two days of Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship testing at Queensland Raceway this week.

Allerton, who continues to recover from knee surgery prior to the Mallala round, recorded a quickest lap of 1m09.2, three tenths of a second quicker than Team Honda Racing duo Jamie Stauffer and Josh Hook.

Bikebiz Racing Kawasaki’s Sean Condon was again in the mix as top privateer with a 1m09.6 despite crashing during the test and fracturing ribs. He plans to race next weekend.

Current series leader Wayne Maxwell was fifth quickest on the Team Motul Honda entry at 1m09.7, ahead of Team Honda Racing stablemate Troy Herfoss and another Honda in Glenn Scott – both stopping the clock at 1m09.9.

Matt Walters completed just one day of the two on board his Kawasaki Connection ZX-10R, logging a 1m10.2 and he was another to go down throughout the test. Final time obtained came from Ben Henry at 1m10.5.

Mike Jones was absent due to a broken scaphoid sustained just after Mallala, but he also plans to return for the race, while Dustin Goldsmith skipped the test and will miss the race unless additional sponsorship can be attained.

In Supersport it was Callum Spriggs who set the pace at 1m12.2, from Daniel Falzon’s 1m12.7 and Aiden Wagner’s 1m12.8. No other times were obtained and all were supplied unofficially.
