Demmery, McHenry, Harding, McMartin and Reekie headline winners.
You could almost say Brandon Demmery (Noise Guard Racing) had a ripper of a weekend. After taking out yesterday’s FX 300 Ninja Cup class, Demmery kept his race-winning form in today’s Swann Insurance Championship.
This time however the youngster made it three wins from three starts beating the local boy Kyle Buckley on his BC Performance A1 Kawasaki machine who suffered a dislocated shoulder the day before.
Just like at Mallala, the racing was red hot, as Demmery and Buckley were the two standout performers. In race three, the difference between the pair was just 0.090s. Think that was close? How about 0.068s between Demmery and another Queenslander in Jack Baker, piloting the Kawasaki Motor Finance machine.
Baker was strolling along very nicely, picking up a second fourth before bailing out in the final race at the last corner which left him finishing in seventh place.
Baker can hold the honour however to having the set the fastest lap time of the day, which was a 1m26 flat in race one.
In a solid third place was New Zealander Bailie Perriton (Fujitsu-ESPC Services) who just went about doing his job picking up three third place finishes for the day
In fourth and fifth place were the two girls of Sophie Lovett (Lovetts Earth Moving/Kawasaki/Ricondi/Shark/Held) and Di Jones (BC Performance A1 Kawasaki) who are giving the boys a bit of a hurry along!
With Demmery’s day in the sun, he now tops the title points fist fight with 208-points heading into Winton in August, just five points clear from Buckley. Perriton lies in third on 162.
Joshua McHenry took out the 250 Ninja Cup (1-2-1) from Grant Jordan who denied McHenry the win in race two. Craig White rounded out the podium with a run of three third placings just ahead of Ben Green.
Just like Demmery did in the Ninja 300 Cup, Mathew Harding (K&R Hydraulics/Kawasaki Connection) produced a clean sweep in the Formula Oz class.
Harding finished ahead of Dynotech Pirelli BMW’s Ben Nicolson, who didn’t quite have the same day as he did the day before, but is looking forward to his ‘home round’. Nicolson sits in second in the championship, seven points behind Harding.
Brayden Carr (Fastway Couriers/Carr Bros Motorsports) was third finishing ahead of championship leader, Chris Trounson on the Gas Honda Racing CBR1000RR. Alistair Hoogenboezem rounded out the top five on the LMR BMW S 1000RR.
Ducati-mounted Craig McMartin took another set of clean wins in the Pro-Twins Class (F1) ahead of Brendan Clarke, who played the bridesmaid all day on the Trinder Aprilia RSV4, while the lawyer from Queensland, Michael McMillan, was third and also strapped to a RSV4.
Angus Reekie again won the Nakedbikes (F1) on 75-points ahead of Adrian Pierpoint, well in the battle amongst the combined Pro-Twins field.
