Australian released following difficult first season together.
Mahindra Racing has replaced Australian Arthur Sissis in its Moto3 World Championship team, drafting in Italian Andrea Migno for the rest of the 2014 season.
After finishing 26th at Brno on Sunday, Sissis’ exit from the team comes following a frustrating season together, in which he has scored just three points to date. That lone point-scoring finish came with 13th at Sachsenring.
“It wasn’t a good race and not how I wanted to say goodbye to Mahindra,” commented Sissis. “Once again I was in among the slower riders and it was impossible to get away.”
Sissis has been part of the world championship full-time since 2012, having made his debut with a one-off appearance at the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix. His highlight came at the 2012 Australian Grand Prix, placing third at Phillip Island for Red Bull KTM.
“I take the opportunity to say goodbye to Arthur, to thank him for his contribution, and to welcome Andrea Migno for Silverstone,” stated Mahindra Racing CEO Mufaddal Choonia. “I am looking forward to more exciting racing.”
Migno, 18, is a graduate of the VR46 Riders’ Academy, and has earned his chance with strong performances in the FIM CEV Repsol championship.
