The South African round of the 2014 FIM Superbike World Championship has been cancelled, the FIM and Dorna WSBK have confirmed. It won’t be replaced on the schedule.

A discussion within the SBK Commission will define any possible options to compensate for the available amount of points that will be missed through the cancellation of the South African event in both in the WSBK and WSS standings and further information will follow in due course.

As announced, the final prize-giving ceremony for both WSBK and WSS classes will take place in Doha, Qatar, the day after the races, on the night of Monday, 3 November.

Meanwhile the FIM STK 1000 Cup and the European STK 600 Championship winners will be awarded in Magny-Cours, France, on the night of Sunday, 5 October, as well as the European Junior Cup winner.
