Australian Jed Metcher will make his MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship debut next weekend at Assen as the former Superstock 600 FIM Cup championship winner lines up with the PR Racing Kawasaki team.

Metcher took his Superstock title in 2011, scoring seven podium finishes from 10 races during the campaign, before moving into the World Supersport Championship in 2012, where he scored top 10 finishes.

“I’ve had one of my most up and down seasons ever this year so I’m more than happy that John Jameson and the PR Racing team has given me the opportunity to ride their Superbike,” Metcher said.

“I’ve had some experience with the ZX-10 in Australia now and really enjoy riding the bike. I need to thank Rob Vennegoor from RT Racing Support for working tirelessly to keep me racing.”

The news comes in addition to Metcher’s current Superstock 1000 FIM Cup championship ride on board the EAB Racing Team Ducati, in which he’s finishing the 2014 season.

The next round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship and the first race of the Showdown takes place at TT Circuit Assen on 19-21 September.
