The 2015 FIM Endurance World Championship will increase to five or potentially six rounds, its been announced by series organisers.

It features five races starting with the Le Mans 24 Hour, which is returning to its traditional dates at the start of the season, and ending with the Bol d’Or.

Le Mans will take place on 18-19 April, while the Bol d’Or will be returning to Le Castellet on 19-20 September. The last Bol d’Or on the Paul Ricard circuit in the South of France was in 1999.

There will be a new event in 2015, the 12 Hours of Magny-Cours scheduled on 6-7 June. This new event could usher in a new format of twice six hours of racing.

The Suzuka 8 Hours at the end of July and the 8 Hours of Oschersleben in August remain classic events of the FIM Endurance World Championship.

Negotiations are under way for a sixth event, currently held with Estoril (Portugal) for a race in May or October, Zolder (Belgium) for an event on 4-5 July and with the Slovakia Ring for May.

Among the major changes for the 2015 Regulations is the creation of a new class and a FIM SuperTwin Endurance Trophy. This class would allow twin-cylinder machines to enter the endurance events and would be governed by relatively flexible technical regulations.
